ANNE SPIEGEL

Anne Spiegel was appointed German Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth in December 2021, having previously been appointed Minister of State for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy and Mobility and Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate from May-December 2021, and Minister of State for Family, Women, Youth, Integration and Consumer Protection Rhineland-Palatinate from 2016-May 2021. Between 2011-2016 Ms Spiegel was a Member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate and deputy parliamentary group leader. Between 2000-2007 she studied political science, philosophy and psychology in Mannheim, Darmstadt, Salamanca (Spain) and Mainz, receiving Magister Artium at the University of Mainz in 2007. Ms Spiegel was also selected to be the first German UN Youth delegate to the General Assembly in 2005.
