Marcel Spatari is the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova. Previously he was General Manager of Syndex Romania, a member of the French group Syndex, one of the largest consulting companies on protection of workers’ rights, where he provided consultancy on socio-economic issues, labour law and industrial relations for companies and employee representatives in Moldova, Romania and the European Union.
Minister Spatari is the author of articles and studies on the situation of employees, social dialogue, the labour market, the minimum wage, the cost of a decent life and the impact of COVID-19 on employees and the labour market. He also advised social dialogue partners on the reform of the Romanian pension system. He graduated from the State University of Moldova, the Faculty of International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences in 2003. He also holds a Master’s Degree in European Studies from the College of Europe and in Business Administration at IFAG School of Management and Entrepeneurship and the University of Nantes.
